Bandcamp transactions racked up $1Million in December, now bringing the total to $12.6Million. This goes some way to show that direct to fan can work, but Bandcamp still take a percentage cut of sales, even if it is less than iTunes overbearing take on their sale price, ‘direct to fan’ will always have a middle man somewhere.
