After doing it ‘My Way’ with adidas earlier this year, our latest major music supervision project features another all-time classic: ‘My Favorite Things’ from the legendary Rodgers & Hammerstein musical The Sound Of Music.
The song has been covered by everyone from John Coltrane to Outkast down the years, but this advert for Google required the original Julie Andrews recording to be licensed – never a straightforward task with a track of this magnitude. We budgeted the project, negotiated with unions and cleared both sides for the ‘Your Favorite Things’ campaign video, which sees the Google app throwing up results for every one of Andrews’ preferred items and has been viewed almost 10 million times already.
However, that was just the start. To add value to the campaign and provide a 21st-century twist, we commissioned three exciting artists to produce their own personalised versions of ‘My Favorite Things’.
