MusicMap x Richer Sounds

Our global music discovery site MusicMap recently teamed up with leading British entertainment retailer Richer Sounds to help promote emerging musicians via the brand’s Richer Unsigned platform.

Richer Unsigned was set up as a not-for-profit enterprise by the company’s founder Julian Richer, in order to give something back to the music community that keeps consumer demand for hi-fi equipment consistently high. MusicMap was invited by Richer Unsigned CEO Rob Lewis to submit a playlist for the platform, so we selected five of the best international artists we’ve covered on the site, alongside five London-based acts who represent the cosmopolitan flavour of the UK capital.

One of the artists we chose was British-Nigerian artist Tony Njoku, whose expansive compositions, sweeping synths and distinctive falsetto vocals earned himlast year’s Green Man Rising award and a place on The Monitors’ best albums of 2016 list. He was invited to perform at Richer Unsigned’s monthly lunchtime session at Cambridge Audio’s Melomania venue space, and put on a stunning performance for everyone there.
