Our most recent music supervision project sees us welcoming Brian Peacock to the adidas skateboarding team. Following the skater through the streets of Shanghai alongside Lucas Puig, Rodrigo Teixeira, Jenn Soto, Mariah Duran and Stephen Khou, the music in the ‘Shen City Peaks’ video had to spread the feel-good vibes and laid-back mood of its protagonists.
The scene is initially set by Toro y Moi’s Chaz Bundick and twin-brother jazz duo Mattson 2, who together go by the convenient name Chaz Bundick Meets The Mattson 2. The chilled, exploratory beats of their track ‘A Search’ opens the video, before segueing into Geoffrey Landers’ catchy ‘Say You’ll Say So’, a home-baked slice of avant-pop-funk reminiscent of Arthur Russell.
